Mark Carroll from the Brighton and Hove Allotment Federation and Jamie Burston from Sussex Butterfly Conservation have worked together to produce a guide to butterflies and moths especially for allotmenteers!

They have produced a leaflet which you will be able to get from your site rep, and Butterfly Conservation have also added more in-depth information to a page on their website.

The guide tells you which butterflies and moths you should be looking out for on your allotment, and which plants you can grow to help support them. There are also tips for how to live in harmony with some of the species which we sometimes see as pests, like cabbage whites, which are actually a threatened species!
