Still time to take part in Big Dig Week!

Celebrate the start of the growing season with a week long programme of activities on community plots across the city.

Over 20 community gardens will be open to the public and will be hosting special events to encourage people to get involved and volunteer. Community plots will be open at Coldean, North Portlsade, Weald and Craven Vale sites, as well as city centre locations.  Community gardens are a great way for new plot holders to learn the ropes and get the hang of seasonal and practical gardening skills.

Activities include:

preparing seedbeds – building compost bins- planting potatoes and garlic-weeding, raking and sifting -  digging - harvesting rhubarb and leeks – picking salad – pruning – trench making- tending fruit trees and bushes – sowing wildlife friendly flowers – mulching

Use this map to find a garden near you and click on the pins to find out more and volunteer . You can also enter your postcode to show the gardens near you.
