Allotment Competitions 2013
Here are the posters for the 2013 allotment competitions, which if you want you can download as a pdf. This years competition is run as usual with The Brighton and Hove Allotment Federation in partnership with ‘Brighton and Hove City in Bloom’.
The three prizes are
Best Kept Allotment
The Coronation Bowl was introduced in 1953 to mark the Coronation
of Queen Elizabeth II and has been awarded each year to the winner of The Best Kept Allotment.
Best Newcomer
For new allotment holders who have taken on a new tenancy in the last year (after Jan 2012) and have made the most progress in cultivating their allotment.
Most Creative Allotment
A new competition category for a new type of allotment grower. This
category will judge imaginative and creative use of allotment space
alongside the use of sustainable and innovative growing techniques. Sponsored by The Brighton and Hove Allotment Federation
Closing date for entires is 28th June 2013. Judging takes place the week of 8th July. Enter by emailing your details , site and plot number to bhaf.contact@gmail.com

Tallest Sunflower
Largest Courgette
Best Scarecrow
Age 11+
best 1m x 1m plot
Closing date for entries for the childrens competitonis 12th July 2013, judging takes place the week of the 5th August. Please email your details, site and plot number to bhaf.contact@gmail.com.
